that some studies suggested that Barbiturates could suppress REM (Rapid Eyes Movement) sleep ?
Nevertheless they also said that not necessarily those drugs interfer with the overall sleep time.

Barbiturates drugs, when taken to excess, produce that the patient becames sleepy, tremoulous, dull and ataxic ?
Barbiturates are a drugs derived from barbituric acid, acts as a central nervous system depressant, and are addictive.
