Did you know that…..
A recent study (Dec.2010), published by Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences,(PNAS), affirms that activity levels in the left hemisphere caudate-fusiform circuit predict how well a second language will be learned ?
That study has been carried out by investigators of Department of Radiology and Brain Research Imaging Center, University of Chicago, and Beijing MRI Center for Brain Research and State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.
Li Tai Tan, Lin Chen, Jing Yang, and others conclude:
“Our findings suggest that the activity level of left caudate and fusiform regions serves as an important neurobiological marker for predicting accomplishment in reading skills in a new language“.
