Agoraphobia

Did you know that…..

Westphal introduced the term “Agoraphobia” in 1871 ?

He used that name to describe fear of wide streets, squares or open spaces, and described the agoraphobic reaction as determined by an idea of danger which appears irrational and strange to the individual.

Westphal wrote a paper presenting data of three agoraphobic patients.
