The European Union Alcohol Survey III

Did you know that…..

according to a recent survey men are far more likely (84%) to consume alcoholic beverages than women (68%), and those men who drink tend to do so more frequently than women and have more drinks per sitting ?

And did you know that…..

one quarter (25%) of young people aged 15-24 years drink 5 or more drinks once a week compared to just 1 in 10 (11%) people aged 55+ ?.

This survey (EU citizens’ attitudes towards alcohol) has been carried out in the European Union and published in April 2010 in the Eurobarometer 331. It covers the population 15 years and over of the respective nationalities of the European Union Members. (*)

Did you know that…..

according to a recent survey the largest percentages of respondents who drink alcohol in the UE are found in
Denmark (93%), Sweden (90%) and the Netherlands (88%) ?

And the lowest rates of alcohol consumers are found in Portugal (58%), Italy (60%) and Hungary (64%) ?.
