Alcoholics Anonymous

Did you knoLogo de AAw that…..

Alcoholics Anonymous is a voluntary association of alcoholics that is present in almost all countries throughout the world ?

This organization, called AA, describes itself as follow :

“Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is an honest desire to stop drinking. AA has no dues or fees. It is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety”.

This organization plays an active role in helping alcoholics. In AA the alcoholic person feels understood and less isolated. The help the alcoholic gives to other alcoholics may afford him the self esteem and confidence formerly found only in alcohol. The “group of therapy” does not condemn drinking and is not punitive about slips.
